Important note for Etihad Airways passengers flying to the UAE

*Effective as of 27 August 2021

Travellers flying to Abu Dhabi or other entrance ports to United Arab of Emirates, must register via the ICA Smart Travel Service (UAE nationals and transit travellers are exempted). This will be mandatory for traveller(s) to register themselves prior to their departure, including every adult, child, and infant.

In addition, passengers must make sure they are verified to travel and prepared for all entry requirements prior to their flight:

• Taking a COVID-19 PCR test
• Downloading the UAE Al Hosn app
• Upload vaccination document to the app at least 5 days before their departure to receive approval

Etihad Airways travel classes

With the emphasis on flexibility, Etihad Airways boasts a range of classes and fare options to cater for individual need. Nonetheless, each fare choice is what you would expect from one of the world's leading airlines, offering optimal service, comfort and value. Four choices are available when choosing economy class, ensuring that you can tailor your trip to your budget and requirements. Three options are available for business class travellers:

• Saver
• Classic
• Flex

Again, each choice reflects a number of benefits. As you would expect from Etihad's award-winning first class option, premium seats, fine dining and a range of other benefits are offered, including a chauffeur-driven vehicle for your convenience. The airline's guest loyalty program for frequent flyers, rewards travellers with air miles, guest privileges, further discounted flights and more.

Check-in

Checking in with Etihad Airways could not be easier. For convenience and to avoid queues, use the online check-in service. Or if you prefer, check-in with one of our friendly advisors at the airport. Regardless of your baggage arrangements, you can check in online or via our app up to 30 hours before your flight.

Baggage

A very, generous baggage allowance is offered for each fare category:

• Up to 23 kg for economy class
• Two bags, up to 23 kg for business class
• Two bags, up to 32 kg for first class travellers

Hand Luggage

• If you fly in Economy Class, you are allowed to bring 1 piece of hand luggage of a maximum of 7 kg. In addition, you may bring a personal item such as a handbag or laptop with a maximum weight of 5 kg.

• In Business Class and First Class you are allowed to take 2 pieces of hand luggage with you, which together may weigh up to 12 kg. Take a personal item such as a handbag or laptop with a maximum weight of 5 kg.

• The maximum dimensions of the hand luggage may not exceed 56 x 36 x 23 cm. The personal item cannot be larger than 23 x 39 x 19 cm.

Check-in Luggage

• In Economy Class, checked baggage cannot exceed 23 kg per suitcase. You can divide the permitted weight over several suitcases.
• For Business class, there is a limit of 40 kg per suitcase.
• For First Class, the limit is 50 kg.
  Please note: a suitcase may weigh a maximum of 32 kg. If your suitcase is too heavy, it can be transported with Etihad Cargo. The maximum size of checked baggage is 72 x 90 x 45 cm.
