Events in Moscow
In a city of over 10 million inhabitants, there is always something going on to entertain and delight visitors. The Russian Winter Festival (December and January)
The festival takes place between December and January every year. Residents enjoy taking sleigh rides through a city adorned with hundreds of fairy lights, playing ice chess or wandering through the ice sculptures in Gorky Park. The activities take place in various venues throughout the city.
The Moscow International Film Festival (June)
The festival occurs in June. It has been a regular event on the cultural calendar since 1959. Hundreds of films from all over the world are shown and the winning film is awarded the Golden George.
The Taste of Moscow (June)
The event is a 3 day event every June, where the best restaurants in the city offer tasting sessions and master classes on Russian and international cuisine.
Afisha Picnic (July)
It is a one day event at the end of July that is held in the former royal estate of Tsar Alexia I. This event is one of the oldest in the city and attracts big names in the music industry like The Chemical Brothers, Omar Souleyman and Shawn Lee and the Soul Surfers. The event showcases local talent alongside big international names. It is an urban-style event that has markets, sports, workshops, lectures and a gastronomic area.
