Ganesha Chaturthi (August or September)
This day marks the day Lord Ganesha is believed to grant his presence for all devotees on Earth. In the Hindu calendar, this is celebrated in the month of Bhaadrapada.
Diwali (October or November)
This "Festival of Lights" is celebrated throughout the country. During the festival, lights as well as firecrackers are lit. There is also an exchange of gifts among loved ones.
Holi (End of February or Early March)
Holi celebrates the triumph of ‘good' over ‘evil', represented by the end of winter gloom and the welcoming of the blossoming spring. This is a colourful celebration festival that is started with lighting of a bonfire.
Sankranthi (January)
Sankranthi is the most important Hindu festival in Hyderabad and it is celebrated to mark the beginning of harvest season in India.
