Bo Sang Umbrella Festival (Mid January)
The Bo Sang Umbrella Festival is a three-day festival where the streets are decorated with lanterns and hundreds of umbrellas in Bo Sang Village near Chiang Mai. There is a legend that states a monk brought the technique on how to make paper umbrellas to the village and they protected him.
Chiang Mai Flower Festival (February)
The Chiang Mai Flower Festival is a celebration of the city. It includes parades, a Miss Chiang Mai Flower competition, exhibitions, and a lot of beautiful flowers.
Inthakin City Pillar Festival (May-June)
This festival takes place over the course of 8 days in Chiang Mai each year. It is a festival that is unique to Chiang Mai and locals pay homage to the City Pillar, known as Sao Inthakin.
Sunday Walking Street (Every Sunday)
Every Sunday in Chiang Mai there is a huge walking street with arts, crafts and food. The market is held along the Ratchadamnoen Road.
